鑄鐵平板又稱(chēng)鑄鐵平臺，外觀(guān)基本上是箱體式，工作面有長(cháng)方形、正方形、圓形等，材料為HT200-300，QT400-600，采用刮研工藝，工作面上可加工V形、T形、U形槽、燕尾槽、圓孔、長(cháng)孔等，是用于工件、設備檢測、劃線(xiàn)、裝配、焊接、組裝、鉚焊的平面基準量具。
鑄鐵平板的精度：0級、1級、2級、3級、精刨，根據用途來(lái)區分精度。
鑄鐵平臺可以用地錨器安裝，首先用戶(hù)根據鑄鐵平臺的圖紙做好地基和預埋孔，然后把地錨器放到提前設置的預留孔里，將鑄鐵平臺調整水平，鐵平臺根據用戶(hù)的要求設計安裝方式，地腳螺栓安裝。
鑄鐵平臺調至水平、負荷均勻分布于各支點(diǎn)上。環(huán)境溫度(20±5)℃。使用時(shí)應避免振動(dòng)。鑄鐵平臺采用墊鐵安裝的優(yōu)點(diǎn)，安裝快捷、移動(dòng)方便。
延長(cháng)鑄鐵平臺的壽命時(shí)在使用的過(guò)程中要注意不要在潮濕，有腐蝕、過(guò)高和過(guò)低的溫度環(huán)境下使用和存放鑄鐵平板使用后應清洗干凈，搞好防銹工作。
